Seamanship

Seamanship is a fundamental and essential aspect of our curriculum at Peninsula High School's NJROTC program, designed to impart cadets with the practical knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and operate effectively at sea. Through hands-on training and classroom instruction, cadets learn the art of seamanship, including knot tying, line handling, boat handling, and basic shipboard procedures. They gain a deep understanding of safety protocols, teamwork, and effective communication required for successful maritime operations. Seamanship training also instills in cadets a profound respect for the sea and the importance of environmental stewardship. By honing their seamanship skills, our cadets become adept mariners, well-prepared for potential Navy or maritime careers, and equipped with valuable life skills that promote adaptability, resourcefulness, and discipline.
